Shyamala Subramanian has a diverse work experience primarily in the field of product development and materials engineering. Shyamala started their career in 2007 at SABIC Innovative Plastics as a Roll-to-Roll Technologist, focusing on Display and Optical Films. In 2009, they joined E Ink Corporation as a Senior Materials Engineer and later advanced to the position of Manager, Film Materials in Product Development. From 2016 to 2019, they served as a Senior Manager in Product Development at E Ink Corporation before being promoted to the role of Director, leading the department's overall product development strategies.
Shyamala Subramanian obtained a LEAD: Corporate Innovation Certificate from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2018. Prior to that, they pursued their PhD in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Penn State University from 2002 to 2007. Shyamala completed their undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where they earned a B. Tech (Hons) degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from 1998 to 2002.
