Akash Ratnayaka

Akash Ratnayaka is a Cell/Battery Scientist at Echion Technologies, specializing in the development of XNO anode materials and optimizing their integration into manufacturing processes. Previously, as a Development Scientist at Integrated Graphene Ltd, Ratnayaka focused on the research and development of Gii® materials for high-voltage supercapacitors and created novel room temperature ionic liquid electrolytes. Ratnayaka completed a PhD at Loughborough University, where the research concentrated on high energy and power density supercapacitor electrodes using various materials characterization techniques. Early career experiences include a research scientist role at the Industrial Technology Institute and a visiting worker position at Rothamsted Research. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medicinal Chemistry from Loughborough University and a Bachelor of Science in Medicinal Chemistry from Keele University.
