Derrick Xu has worked in a variety of roles in the past decade, starting as Sales Manager for Skyworth in 2015. In 2017, they became Country Manager for Mooved Ghana. Most recently, in 2022, they began working as Regional Sales Manager for Africa for EcoFlow, a leading brand specialized in providing portable energy solutions. Derrick'srole includes exclusive patents that charge to 80% within one hour and can support charge high-power devices such as fridges, coffee makers, and hair dryers. Additionally, the products can be charged via solar panel.

Derrick Xu attended Dalian Maritime University from 2010 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Maritime Technology.
