Willis Chen

Willis Chen currently serves as Vice President of Marketing Planning at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, having begun this role in May 2023. Previously, Willis was a Marketing Consultant at Friends, Romans from 2013 to May 2023, where guidance was offered to start-up founders on product value propositions and go-to-market strategies. Experience also includes serving as Head of Marketing at SocialFlow, leading a transformation that resulted in a significant increase in average deal size and a $10 million investment. As Marketing Director at Solvate, Willis achieved a 300% increase in website traffic and expanded the freelancer database. Earlier roles include Director of Strategy & Business Development at Ditherdog, and various marketing positions at American Express, where retention rates were effectively improved and lead generation initiatives were successfully launched. Willis holds an MBA in Marketing from Cornell University and a BS in Accounting from Lehigh University.
