Jo Beer, ACMA, CGMA, is a seasoned finance and operations expert with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. As the Founder and Managing Director of Bursary Assessment Associates and Owner and Managing Director at BAA Consultancy Ltd since 2017 and 2018 respectively, Jo Beer has also contributed as a Non-Executive Director at Edsential since 2019. Previously, Jo held the position of Director of Finance and Operations at The King's School Chester, shaping the finance and operations strategies for the school's network. Jo's prior experience includes serving as Procurement Director for CSM Bakery Supplies Europe Division, where strategic procurement leadership was underscored, and earlier roles with CSM in category management and UK procurement. Jo's career initiated at Unilever as a Commercial Finance Manager and at Danone as a Sales and Marketing Accountant, where financial management structures and brand profitability strategies were developed. Education was completed at Cranfield School of Management.

Edsential are a community interest company owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council and Wirral Council to provide traded services to the Education Sector. We have been created with a private sector head and public sector heart – allowing us the freedom to compete whilst using any surplus as a direct reinvestment in our services or to support projects in our schools. We are independent of our stakeholders and serve all schools and institutions, regardless of government structure.
