Jelena Borak serves as the Advocacy and Communications Officer for Education Cannot Wait (ECW) since March 2021, where responsibilities include enhancing advocacy efforts for education in emergencies. Previously, Jelena held roles at the University of Calgary as an Inter-University Institute Fellow, focusing on storytelling's impact on youth health and education. A Fulbright Fellow in Taiwan from August 2018 to July 2019, Jelena taught English at a rural elementary school. Additional experience includes internships and residences at First Book, Seeds of Peace, and the Miriam Altshuler Literary Agency, demonstrating a strong commitment to education, communications, and youth advocacy. Jelena holds an Ed.M. in International Education Policy from Harvard University and a B.A. in English and Studio Art from Vassar College.
