Matti Luhtala

Matti Luhtala is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in design and innovation, currently serving as the Founder, CEO, and Designer for Innovation at EfxSails since March 2021, focusing on sustainable sailing solutions and digital commerce. Previously, Matti held the position of Senior Service Designer at Vincit and worked as an Ecosystem Co-creation Researcher and Service Designer at VTT. Additional roles include Head of SmartLab Design Laboratory at Vantaan kaupunki and Designer and Developer of Auditory Interfaces and Interactive Musical Systems at the University of Tampere, where research centered on aesthetic aspects of musical interaction. An expert in music creation tools, Matti's earlier work at VTT involved designing resources for music therapists. Matti's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Interactive Technology from Tampere University, along with a Master of Arts in Sound in New Media from Aalto University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sound Design from TAMK University.
