Mohsen Sarhan

Mohsen Sarhan is an accomplished leader in the nonprofit and development sectors, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Food Bank since January 2020, where leadership includes a team of 1,100 professionals and over 30,000 volunteers. As the Founder and CEO of Athar, a social enterprise established in May 2015, Mohsen provided “RCT-specific” research support to government and civil society, with notable projects including a partnership with the World Bank in 2019. Additional experience includes roles as a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences at Cairo University, president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Egypt and MENA, and positions at organizations such as UNICEF USA and Misr El Kheir Foundation. Mohsen holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Master’s degree in Management of Nonprofit and International Development Organizations from The American University in Cairo, alongside a BSc in Economics from Cairo University.
