Lang McHardy

Lang McHardy is an experienced professional in intellectual property management, currently serving as the Head of Intellectual Property at Electra since April 2021, where efforts focus on protecting the company's innovations in the iron and steel industry. McHardy has extensive experience as the Director of Intellectual Property at Vested IP since July 2009, providing strategic IP support for startups in the Clean-Tech sector. Previous roles include Director of Intellectual Property at AQUAHYDREX, INC, and Staq Energy, Inc., which focused on energy storage solutions, as well as Director & Practice Leader of Patent Analytics at Ocean Tomo, responsible for advising on IP strategies. Earlier career stages included work as a Patent Agent at Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP and as an Engineering Intern at Guidant. McHardy holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Philosophy from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
