Michael Junkin has worked in a variety of roles since 2011. From 2011 to 2016, they worked as a Postdoc at ETH Zurich. Michael then moved to the University of Chicago, where they served as a Senior Scientist from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, they began working at Complete Genomics Inc. as a Staff Microfluidic R&D Engineer, eventually becoming a Senior Microfluidic R&D Engineer. In 2020, they joined ELEGEN as a Senior Staff Engineer, then becoming a Staff Engineer.
Michael Junkin has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Arizona. Michael also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Additionally, they studied abroad at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics from 2000 to 2001.
