James Hansen is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in quantitative strategy and risk management. Currently serving as a Senior Risk Strateg at Element Capital Management since July 2022, James previously held leadership positions at Goldman Sachs, where responsibilities included managing US Equity Derivatives Automation and Flow Vol Strategy and Engineering, as well as serving as a Vice President for Interest Rates Quantitative Algorithmic Trading and Core Quantitative Strats. A quantitative strategist in fixed income at Global Trading Systems from June 2015 to May 2018, James has a strong background in automated market making and algorithm development. Academically, James earned a BS in Mathematics from Caltech and a PhD in High Energy Physics from UCLA.
