Robert Owsley is an experienced professional in the fields of operations and education, currently serving as a Senior Operations Associate at Element Capital Management since January 2023. Previously, Owsley taught computer science at the Academy for Software Engineering, focusing on AP and introductory courses using Java, Python, HTML, and Scratch. Owsley's expertise in programming was further demonstrated through a role as a Java Instructor for Columbia University's summer pre-college program in 2022. Prior to entering education, Owsley had a successful career in the financial sector, holding positions such as Global Marketing Strategist at Thomson Reuters, Global Product Manager for FX Analytics at Bloomberg LP, and Quantitative Trading Strategist for FX Derivatives at UBS Investment Bank. Owsley holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, with a concentration in Writing, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
