Tom Joyce is an accomplished professional in structural engineering and design, currently serving as an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of New Brunswick since October 2022 and a Mass Timber Engineer at Element5 since January 2021. With a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Alberta, research focuses on enhancing design efficiency in timber structures. Tom has extensive teaching experience, including leadership courses at the Peter Lougheed Leadership College and a variety of engineering courses. Previous roles include structural designer positions and early engineering experience in designing structures across various sectors. Tom holds a Master’s Degree in Forestry Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Queen's University.
