Wouter IJdo has over 20 years of work experience in research and development. Wouter started their career as an R&D scientist at Unilever in 1999. In 2000, they joined Elementis Specialties as an R&D Manager and later became the R&D Manager of the Americas, where they worked closely with the leadership team to develop new technology platforms in the coatings, energy, and personal care markets. In 2016, Wouter assumed the role of R&D Director at Elementis Specialties, overseeing new product development and managing the Analytical and R&D departments in the US.
Wouter IJdo received their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Leiden University from 1987 to 1993. Wouter then pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Michigan State University from 1994 to 1998. Later, they enrolled at Rider University and obtained an MBA degree from 2006 to 2008.

It offers rheological additives and modifiers, high performance dispersing agents, organoclays and colorants, defoamers and coalescing agents, wetting and slip agents, loanolin and other natural oil derivatives, flow and leveling additives, other specialty additives and resins. The Chromium segment is a producer of chromium chemicals, such as sodium dichromate, chromic oxide, chromic acid and liquid chrome sulfate, used in applications, such as aerospace alloys, timber treatment and leather production.
