Sam Verbuyst currently serves as a Client Rep Coordinator at Elia since January 2024, focusing on the Princess Elisabeth Energy island project. Prior experience includes a prominent role at DEME Group from January 2018 to November 2024, where responsibilities included Chief Mate, SDPO, and Jacking Engineer on the Self Propelled HLJV vessel Apollo, working on multiple renewable energy projects in the North Sea and South East Asia. Sam has also held various positions at G-tec and earlier at DEME Group, gaining extensive experience in offshore operations, including overseeing geotechnical drilling and UXO clearance projects, and achieving a DPO license while involved in major global projects such as the Wheatstone LNG-terminal and the Panama Canal deepening. Education was completed at Antwerp Maritime Academy.
