Maria Piccolo has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, primarily with Vodafone since June 1998, where roles have included Head of Deployment Services - VST and Head of Mobile & Fixed Network Deployment Area, focusing on the deployment of mobile and fixed networks. Previous positions at Vodafone involved significant responsibilities in mobile network design and optimization across various regions, including North East and North West areas, as well as management roles in RAN optimization and dimensioning. Currently, Maria Piccolo serves as a Senior RAN Engineer at ELIS and is recognized as a Role Model in the Scuola Impresa Project. Maria Piccolo holds a Master's degree in Media & Telecommunications from MIP Politecnico di Milano (2008-2010) and a Laurea in Engineering from Università di Catania (1990-1997).

Attraverso enti di natura giuridica diversa, tutti non profit, organizza corsi per giovani e lavoratori, conduce scuole, istituti professionali e residenze di studenti. ELIS è anche ONG per la cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo.
