Jim Piatt

SVP, Advancement & External Affairs at Elon University

James Piatt currently serves as the Senior Vice President for University Advancement and External Affairs at Elon University, a position held since November 2008, following a tenure as Vice President for University Advancement. With a focus on fundraising, alumni engagement, and donor relations, James provides executive leadership in these areas. Prior to Elon University, James was Vice President for Advancement at the University of Mount Union from October 2000 to October 2008, where responsibilities included leading a comprehensive university advancement program. Earlier experience includes serving as the Associate Director of Development at Stanford Law School from 1998 to 2000, where James was responsible for securing major gifts. James Piatt holds an M.B.A. from Ohio University, earned between 1990 and 1993, and a B.S. in Journalism from the same institution, obtained between 1983 and 1987.
