John Chang has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. John started their career at IBM in 1989 as a Functional Test Engineer, where they worked on designing test fixtures and implemented test automation software. John then transitioned to various managerial roles within IBM, including Senior Manager positions in Power Firmware & Hypervisor, AIX Storage Device Driver, AIX File System, Install, Desktop & Globalization, and PowerHA, CAA & RSCT. In these roles, they managed development teams, coordinated global development efforts, and promoted virtualization and simplification.
After leaving IBM, John Chang joined Poly (formerly Plantronics) as the Austin Site Manager, where they built the site from scratch and grew it to 30 engineers in 3 years. John continued to manage the site operations, facility management, and vendor relations until Plantronics acquired Polycom.
Most recently, John Chang worked at Neosem Technology Inc as the Sr. Director of Engineering & Austin Site Manager. In this role, they led development engineering teams across multiple locations, managed client interactions with memory and SSD manufacturers, and was responsible for engineering recruiting across all US locations.
In the future, John Chang will be joining EM Microelectronic as the Director of Engineering & Austin Site Manager.
John Chang attended the University of Maryland from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
