Katie Deeg, PhD, serves as the Manager of Strategy & Policy for Emergent, a nonprofit focused on tropical forest conservation and climate crisis mitigation since November 2019. Concurrently, Katie holds the position of MBA Lecturer at Esade, teaching corporate sustainability and climate strategies for MBA and Executive MBA programs. As Of Counsel for Algoritmo Legal, scientific advising is provided on big data, technology, and energy matters. Previous experience includes roles as a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley, where research involved computational chemistry related to clean energy applications. Additional experience includes policy analysis with the American Jobs Project and research on hydrogen storage through a Fulbright Program fellowship.
