Emerging Creatives of Science
Melissa Pappas is an experienced science communicator and creative campaign director, currently serving as the Founder and Creative Director of Emerging Creatives of Science since May 2018. Pappas also holds the position of Junior Science Writer at the University of Pennsylvania, where storytelling focuses on innovative research in engineering and applied sciences. Additionally, Pappas has worked as an Ecological Communications Specialist for Save the Sound and has held writing roles at KAUST. With a robust academic foundation in marine sciences, including a Master's degree from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and ongoing PhD studies at UNSW, Pappas has conducted significant research on coral recovery and marine biodiversity. Past roles also include administrative and teaching positions, underscoring a diverse skill set in communication, research, and education within the sciences.
