Martin Cooper has a diverse work experience that spans over different companies and roles. Martin currently holds the position of Head of Global Services Engagement Management at Emergn since October 2023, where they previously served as a Principal Consultant. Martin also worked at bp as a Global Product Manager from June 2021 to January 2023. Before that, they were the CEO of MJC Advanced Consulting Limited from March 2015 to February 2020, where they provided IT consultancy, project and program management, and IT security services to UK businesses. Martin has also held interim roles at GSK Vaccines and GSK, including Programme Manager and Director of Strategy, Architecture, and the Project Management Office. Martin worked as a Project Manager at Northumbria University and GSK, where they also served as a Senior Project Manager. Martin's previous experience includes positions at HCL AXON as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager, and at IBM UK Ltd as a Certified Senior Project Manager and SAP Technical Consultant. Martin started their career as an SAP Systems Consultant at Scottish Courage Ltd. Martin has extensive experience in delivering projects in various industries, including IT services, retail, and manufacturing.
Martin Cooper has a B.Sc. (Hons) Computing degree from Northumbria University, which they obtained between 1995 and 1999. Prior to that, they studied Computer Science at Newcastle University from 1993 to 1994. Martin also completed their A' level Computing degree at Monkwearmouth College from 1991 to 1993, with a focus on Psychology & Geography. In terms of certifications, Martin obtained a VFQ Agile Practitioner certification from Emergn in 2020 and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in 2008.
