Anthony Shumate

Anthony Shumate, MFA, is a seasoned creative professional with extensive experience in leadership roles across various organizations. Currently serving as the Sr. Director of the Experience Lab at Empyrean since July 2011, Anthony drives creative vision and strategy for communication initiatives, aiming to enhance employee engagement and corporate culture. As a Creative Director and User Experience Lead at Empyrean, Anthony leads a team in producing diverse content and prioritizes user experience within the Empyrean Platform. Additionally, Anthony is the Creative Director and Owner of ACTS Studios, a multimedia studio specializing in innovative design solutions, and previously co-founded APPsauze, focusing on digital platforms for the arts. Previous experience includes teaching roles at the University of Houston and Houston Community College, as well as art director positions at multiple companies. Anthony holds an MFA in Fine Arts from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
