Fadi S. Chakar is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the technical and leadership domains of the pulp and paper industry. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Leader at Encapsys since November 2017, Fadi previously held significant roles at Appvion, Inc. from 2003 to November 2017, including Corporate Technology Leader and Staff Scientist/Project Leader, where Fadi contributed to the successful design and startup of a $120 million thermal coater. Fadi also demonstrated leadership as Technical Development Manager and gained experience as a Senior Scientist, focusing on product development and quality initiatives. Earlier positions at Appleton Papers include Staff Chemist and Senior Chemist. Fadi holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Wood Science and Wood Products/Pulp and Paper Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology, along with a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University.
