David Macartney has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. David started as a Commercial Risk Manager at NIE Energy, Viridian Group in 1998 and held this position until 2014. In 2015, they joined Energia as a Business Development Manager and later became a Corporate Development Manager at VIRIDIAN GROUP LIMITED from 2016 to 2023. In 2010, they also took on the role of Northern Ireland Chairman at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and became a Trustee for the Energia Group Pension Scheme in the same year. Currently, David is serving as the Director of Corporate Development at Energia Group since 2022.
David Macartney completed an Executive MBA at the University of Warwick from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Queen's University Belfast from 1995 to 1998. David received their earlier education at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution, attending from 1988 to 1995 and at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution - Inchmarlo from 1981 to 1988.
