Torrence Welch

Torrence Welch, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in both engineering consulting and music performance. Currently serving as a Senior Managing Consultant at Engineering Systems Inc. since April 2020, Torrence also holds key positions as Principal Oboe for the Alpharetta Symphony and English Horn/Associate Principal Oboe for the Georgia Philharmonic where additional responsibilities include directing subscription series concerts. Prior experience includes roles as Principal Consultant and Senior Consultant at Rimkus Consulting Group from January 2013 to March 2020 and various positions at Exponent and Georgia Tech Neuromechanics Lab. Torrence holds two PhDs in Biomedical Engineering from Emory University School of Medicine and Georgia Institute of Technology, complemented by a Master's and Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University.
