Historic Building Surveyor at English Heritage

Jo Hibbert is a historic building surveyor at English Heritage, actively involved in maintaining monuments and buildings under guardianship since September 2022. With extensive experience as Conservation Director at Levitate Architecture and Design Studio since 2006, Jo oversees conservation and new build projects across the South West. Additionally, Jo serves as a Design West Expert, collaborating with the development sector to enhance regional landscapes. As a visiting studio tutor at the University of Bath, Jo guides final-year architectural students. Jo's advisory roles include membership in the SPAB and the National Trust Advisory Network, as well as serving on the Exeter DAC committee as an architectural advisor. Previous positions include senior architect at Jonathan Rhind Architects and associate at Ferguson Mann Architects, focusing on significant restoration projects. Educational credentials include a BA Hons in Architecture from The University of Sheffield, a Dip Arch from Oxford Brookes University, and training in the Conservation of Historic Buildings from the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.
