Prior to that, Kjetil worked at Odfjell Drilling as the VP of Financial Control and Business Management, as well as the Manager of Business Management and Control. Kjetil was also actively involved in the board of Cykle-Klubben Henie, serving as a Board Member and later as Chairman of the Board. Kjetil's background includes roles at Nordea Liv og Pensjo, PwC Consulting - People & Organization, Helse Fonna, Helse Vest IKT, Stord Offshore Contracting AS, and Marine Aluminium AS, where they served in various financial and managerial positions.

From 1994 to 1997, they attended Os Gymnas, focusing on Økonomisk administrative fag (Economic administration subjects).
Following this, from 2000 to 2002, they attended the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, completing their Høgskulekandidat degree in Økonomi og administrasjon (Economics and administration).
Finally, from 2002 to 2005, they enrolled at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and received their Siviløkonom degree with a specialization in Finance.
