Yifeng earned a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from North Carolina State University. After that, he worked as a postdoc for two years in the same university to continue his research.
Yifeng was passionate about first principles simulation of various materials, including metals, oxides, and alloys, contributing publications in peer-reviewed journals. Yifeng is a machine learning enthusiast. He was first attracted to this field after discovering the ability to write his own Python code of regular neural networks with NumPy, helping him demystify machine learning and understand fundamentally how it worked. Yifeng has been continuously investing his time and effort in expanding his machine learning expertise since then.
