Environmental Law Institute
Matt Mitchell works off-site in Buffalo, NY, as ELI’s Webmaster, a position he has held since 2001. He served as a Research Associate at ELI from 1994-2001, where he worked on a variety of projects, including several involving databases, which led to his current position. Matt graduated magna cum laude in 1994 from the State University of New York College at Brockport, where he was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society. He also interned at ELI during this time, writing a guide for training course logistics that for many years was our main primer for event planning. From 1985-1989, prior to his academic career, Matt served in the United States Marine Corps as an avionics technician on attack helicopters. He is currently responsible for keeping ELI’s web pages up-to-date and running smoothly, in addition to the broader task of moving ELI’s various web sites into the Drupal content management system and the CiviCRM customer relational management system.

The Environmental Law Institute is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, headquartered in Washington, DC, that seeks to "make the law work for people, places, and the planet". ELI conducts research on a broad spectrum of issues, producing reports and offering policy recommendations on critical areas of environmental governance here in the United States as well as abroad.
