Jonas Tornquist has extensive work experience in the energy industry, with a focus on strategy, operations, and regulatory affairs. Jonas has held roles such as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Supervisory Board Member at EPEX Spot, where they led a large team and implemented organizational transformations. Tornquist also served as a Board Member at Europex- Association of European Energy Exchanges. Prior to that, they were Vice Chairman of the Board at Powernext and held a senior strategist position at EDF, where they contributed to the development of the company's global strategy. Tornquist's earlier roles include Head of Transmission and Regulatory Affairs at EDF Trading, Head of Electricity Transmission at Ofgem, and Senior Analyst at The Treasury - New Zealand. Jonas began their career as a Research Scientist at Industrial Research Ltd.

Jonas Tornquist started their education at Uppsala University in 1991, where they pursued a five-year MSc degree in Materials Physics. Jonas completed this degree in 1996. In 1995-1996, they also participated in an International Student Exchange program at the University of Woolongong, focusing on Physics and Business. Following this, Tornquist enrolled at Victoria University of Wellington in 1998, where they pursued an MBA degree in Finance and Economics, which they completed in 2002. Finally, in 2004-2005, Tornquist attended the London Business School, where they participated in the Corporate Finance Executive Program to further their knowledge in the field of Finance.
