Bart Smets has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. In 2000, they started their career as a software engineer at Dymotec and worked there until 2011. Bart then joined Computer Solutions Softec as a software engineer for two years. In 2013, Bart became the owner of BS Automation and worked there until their role transitioned into Equans BeLux, where they held multiple positions. Bart began as a project engineer and later moved up to become a lead engineer automation. Currently, Bart holds the position of Senior Lead Engineer Automation at Equans BeLux.
Bart Smets obtained a Bachelor's degree in Automation from Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen in 1998. Bart later pursued a Master's degree in Industrial automation from the same institution, completing it in 2000. In 2017, Bart also obtained a certification called "zenon Advanced Certificate" from COPA-DATA.
