Marcelo Koeler Hackbarth

Marcelo Koeler Hackbarth is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in drilling and completion fluids, currently serving as Principal Engineer - Drilling and Wells at Equinor since January 2025. Previously, Marcelo held the position of Project Engineer at SafeKick, where responsibilities included wellbore pressures management and well design. Prior to this, Marcelo was self-employed as a Drilling & Completion Fluids Engineer/Consultant and worked for Halliburton & Baroid for over a decade, taking on roles that encompassed technical coordination and field service operations across various projects, including notable work with Equinor and Petrobras. Marcelo holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense, earned between 2000 and 2006.
