Vegard Hausken

Vegard Hausken is a Principal Geologist at Equinor, focusing on the planning and operational oversight of exploration wells since January 2023. Previously, Vegard served as a Chief Engineer at The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate from September 2019 to December 2022, managing geoscience activities in the Halten area of the Norwegian Sea, including resource management and licensing. Prior experience at Total included roles as a Reservoir Geologist involved in clastic reservoir studies in France and business case support in Norway, as well as work as a Wellsite Geologist overseeing geological operations. Vegard's career began with regional seismic interpretation and practical assistance at the University of Bergen. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Bergen and a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
