Carrie Topp started their career in 1991 as a Graphic Designer at Oster Communications. Carrie then moved to Meredith in 1994 and worked as an Associate Art Director until 2006. From 2006 onward, Carrie served as an Associate Art Director for Garden Gate magazine at Active Interest Media.

Carrie Topp attended North Iowa Area Community College from 1984 to 1986, where they pursued an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. After completing their studies there, they transferred to Iowa State University and studied from 1986 to 1989. At Iowa State University, Carrie pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design.
