Curtis Bates

Curtis Bates has had an extensive career in various roles within the aviation and renewable energy industries. Curtis recently joined Erthos as a Senior Field Service Engineer in March 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Clearway Energy Group as a Field Services Engineer from November 2018 to March 2023, and briefly served as a Wind Site Manager from August to November 2018. Before their time at Clearway Energy Group, Curtis worked at NRG Energy as a Wind Site Manager from May 2017 to August 2018, and as a Wind Turbine Technician III from March 2014 to May 2017. Curtis began their career as an Avionics Technician at Marana Aerospace Solutions, Inc. from July 2004 to April 2014, then served as a Flight Engineer at The Flying Hospital from March 1995 to August 2004. Prior to that, they worked as a Lead Mechanic at Lockheed Martin from January 1991 to April 1995, as a Flight Mechanic at Evergreen International Airlines, Inc. from August 1989 to January 1991, and as a Lead Mechanic at Skyworld Aviation Ltd from August 1986 to August 1989. Overall, Curtis Bates has a diverse background in engineering and aviation, with experience in wind energy, avionics, and aircraft maintenance.

Curtis Bates obtained an Airframe & Powerplant certificate in Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics from Colorado Aero Tech in 1986-1987. In 1997, they received a Turbo Jet Flight Engineer License from TransWorld Airline. Curtis also obtained additional certifications, namely a Turbojet Flight Engineer license from the Federal Aviation Administration in January 1997 and an Airframe and Powerplant certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration in January 1987.
