Matthew Rottinghaus has a diverse work experience. Matthew began their career in 2013 as an Audio/Video Technician for ISU Memorial Union. In 2014, they held a Laboratory Technician role for Iowa State University Mechanical Engineering and an Electrical Engineering Intern role for Sukup Manufacturing Co. The following year, they held a Research and Development Assistant role for the Iowa State University Electrical Engineering Department, where they designed and tested a wireless, low power sensor system for structural monitoring, developed a C library to communicate with a 4G cellular modem, and designed and built low power wireless sensor systems utilizing solar power. In 2015, they worked as an Electrical Engineering Intern for ALMACO, where they developed software for testing GPS accuracy, developed software to diagnose problems on embedded computers, and programmed distributed PLCs for combine control. In 2017, they held a Software Engineer role for Emerson Automation Solutions, as well as a Controls Engineering Intern role for Marshalltown.
