ESM - European Stability Mechanism
Rana Jalilova, PMP is an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager currently working at ESM and previously at the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Rana has a strong background in managing multi-currency investment portfolios, investing in fixed income instruments, and analyzing market developments. Rana has also worked as a Project Manager and Lead Strategic Management Specialist, contributing towards instituting strategic plans. In addition, Rana has experience in financial reporting, customer services, and teaching courses at Azerbaijan State Economic University. Rana holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Global Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham.
ESM - European Stability Mechanism
The ESM is the crisis resolution mechanism for euro area countries. The ESM issues debt instruments in order to finance loans and other forms of financial assistance to euro area Member States. The decision leading to the creation of the ESM was taken by the European Council in December 2010. The euro area Member States signed an intergovernmental treaty establishing the ESM on 2 February 2012. The ESM was inaugurated on 8 October 2012 and is based in Luxembourg.
