Cheetak Chai

CheeTak Chai is a seasoned professional in the investment and infrastructure sectors, currently serving as the Managing Director of Infrastructure at ESR Group since March 2023, where responsibilities include leading the China Asean Fund 2. With extensive experience as an angel investor since 2016, CheeTak has invested in over 30 start-ups and has held advisory and board positions in select ventures. Prior roles include Managing Director at The Rohatyn Group from January 2018 to March 2023, where CheeTak was instrumental in private credit investments across Asia, and Managing Director at CapAsia, known for its focus on infrastructure investments in Emerging Asia. Early career experiences include positions at Babcock & Brown and BinaFikir Sdn Bhd. CheeTak holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Cambridge, a Graduate Certificate in International Arbitration from NUS Faculty of Law, an EMBA from Tsinghua University, and double bachelor's degrees in Telecommunications Engineering and Accounting and Finance from The Australian National University.
