Robin Appleby has extensive experience in the GIS (geographic information system) industry. Robin began their career in 1999 as a Pre-Sales Technician at Global Mapping Solutions Ltd (GMSL). In 2001, they transitioned to Esri UK, where they held various roles over the years. Robin started as a Pre-Sales Consultant and then became a Commercial Account Manager. In 2009, they became a Customer Success Consultant and eventually progressed to a Senior Customer Success Consultant. From 2018 to 2022, they were a Principal Customer Success Consultant, providing expert guidance to clients. Currently, Robin serves as the Head of Product Comms and Pre-Sales at Esri UK, responsible for leading and developing teams in product communications and technical pre-sales. Robin ensures effective and efficient operations while keeping up with the company's growth.

Robin Appleby attended Nottingham High School from 1986 to 1996. Robin then went on to Swansea University from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained a BSc Hons degree in Geography and Topographic Science. In 2014, they obtained the CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certification from CompTIA. It is not specified when they obtained the ArcGIS Desktop Professional 10 certification from Esri.
