Jim Herries

Jim Herries is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in geospatial technology and product management at Esri since August 1995. As a Sr. Principal Product Engineer and Product Engineering Lead in Cartography, Jim specializes in the creation of maps, map layers, apps, and story maps for the Living Atlas of the World and ArcGIS Online, emphasizing clear map information and spatial analysis. Previous roles include Program Manager and Product Manager for Business Products, where responsibilities encompassed negotiating project plans, defining product requirements, and driving product growth through effective collaboration with sales and marketing teams. Earlier experience includes project management with The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, managing networks and implementing software solutions. Jim holds an M.A. in Geography from The Ohio State University and a B.A. in Journalism from Lindenwood University.
