Joaquín Urbano

Joaquín Urbano is a seasoned professional in naval architecture and marine engineering, currently serving as the Head of Marine Engineering and Senior Naval Architect at ESTEYCO since October 2016, focusing on offshore wind projects including the ELISA/ELICAN H2020 project. Prior experience includes a position as an Associate Professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from March 2016 to August 2019, and as a Naval Architect at Seaplace, where Joaquín contributed to the detail design of a cable layer vessel and the basic design of a crane vessel. Joaquín also gained experience as a research assistant at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid between October 2009 and July 2011. Educational qualifications include a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, alongside management and strategic innovation training from Esade and HEC Paris in 2022.
