Tony Wessels has a diverse work experience in marketing and leadership roles. Tony is currently serving as the Interim Chief Marketing Officer at Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Convercent as a CEO Advisor and later as the Chief Marketing Officer from 2017 to 2019.
From 2014 to 2017, Tony Wessels held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at FusionOps, where they took responsibility for all worldwide marketing activities. Tony successfully positioned the company as a leader in supply chain intelligence software and competed against the business intelligence market.
At Coupa Software, Tony Wessels served as the Vice President of Marketing from 2011 to 2014. Tony played a key role in advancing the company from an early-stage startup to becoming the number one brand and market leader in spend management.
Before that, they worked at EMC as the Senior Director of Marketing Programs from 2010 to 2011, where they led the development and execution of global marketing programs for the company's portfolio of products.
Tony Wessels also held the position of Vice President of Marketing at APTARE from 2006 to 2010. During their tenure, they successfully positioned APTARE as a leader in storage resource management software and managed all aspects of marketing.
Prior to their roles in tech companies, Tony Wessels served as the Vice President of Marketing at Stata Labs - Yahoo! Inc., leading worldwide marketing and sales for an email and anti-spam software company that was acquired by Yahoo!
Before entering the tech industry, they led a successful business-to-business marketing firm, Hi-Fi Marketing, as President. Tony'sclient list included notable names such as Dr. Phil McGraw, Epson, Network Appliance, and Commerce One, among others.
Throughout their career, Tony Wessels has demonstrated an ability to drive growth, position companies as leaders, and lead successful marketing campaigns.
Tony Wessels attended The University of Texas at Dallas from 1980 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English. Additionally, they pursued further studies in English Language and Literature/Letters at The University of Texas at Dallas, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in this field.

COMMUNITY: The Ethics & Compliance Association (ECA) is the membership community of ECI. This community provides learning through the exchange of ideas and the sharing of best practice in ethics and compliance programs. The association connects global practitioners, thought-leaders, academicians and partners. CERTIFICATION: The Ethics & Compliance Certification Institute (ECCI) is the certification arm of ECI. It represents a strong rigor in education and certification for ethics and compliance practitioners and represents the evolution of the certification program (formerly conducted by the ECA's Foundation). Certification helps prepare practitioners to deliver a new level of excellence to their organizations.
