Swapnil Shashikant Palkar is a skilled professional in the railway industry with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from SSPM's College of Engineering. Currently serving as a Freight Facilities Controller at Etihad Rail since May 2023, Swapnil previously held the position of Operation Controller at the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority from October 2019 to April 2023, where responsibilities included monitoring power performance on SCADA and controlling traction and auxiliary power. Swapnil also has experience as a Train Driver for Mumbai Monorail from December 2018 to October 2019, demonstrating expertise in safely and efficiently operating trains across various routes.

Etihad Rail was established in June 2009 under Federal Law No. 2, with the mandate to manage the development, construction and operation of the UAE’s national freight and passenger railway network. The railway network will link the principal centres of population and industry of the UAE, and will form a vital part of the planned GCC railway network across the GCC.
