Bernd Husemann started their work experience in 1999 as a Church Organist for the Evangelische Weser-Nethe-Kirchengemeinde Beverungen. Bernd then worked as a Summer Intern at the University of Potsdam in 2002 and 2004. From 2011 to 2013, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics. Bernd then became an ESO Fellow at the European Southern Observatory from 2013 to 2016. From 2016 to 2022, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy. Currently, they are a Remote Sensing Scientist for MAP and CLIM instruments aboard CO2M at EUMETSAT starting from May 2022.
Bernd Husemann started their education at the University of Potsdam in 2001, where they pursued a Diploma in Physics. Bernd completed this degree in 2007. Additionally, from 2003 to 2004, they studied Physics at the University of Southampton.
Afterward, Bernd continued their academic journey at the University of Potsdam, earning a Doctor of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) in Astrophysics from 2007 to 2011.
In terms of certifications, Bernd Husemann obtained various qualifications in the field of technology and data science. In December 2020, they completed the IBM Data Science - Professional Certificate from Coursera. Subsequently, in February 2021, they specialized in IBM AI Engineering through another Coursera program.
Furthermore, in July 2021, Bernd completed the Agile Software Developer Nanodegree from Udacity, as well as the Fundamentals of Deep Learning and Fundamentals of Deep Learning for Multi-GPUs courses offered by NVIDIA.
Their most recent certifications include Cloud Developer using Microsoft Azure from Udacity, obtained in September 2021, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Earth Monitoring from FutureLearn, earned in November 2021.
