Imran Akhtar is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in information security and privacy. Currently serving as the Head of Information Security & Privacy at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development since July 2011, Imran manages the Bank's InfoSec, Cyber Security, and Privacy risk mitigation efforts. Prior to this role, Imran worked as a Senior Manager at Deloitte in Information & Technology Risk and as a Security Consultant at Ernst & Young. Earlier in their career, Imran held the position of Ethical Hacker at LogicaCMG. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Computation and a Doctor of Philosophy in Creative Literature & Philosophy, both from The University of Manchester and The Open University, respectively.
