Julie Sonne is the current director at the European Investment Bank. Prior to their current position, they served as head of division at the Nordic Investment Bank and as chief special adviser at the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs. Julie has also worked for the Danish Ministry for Business and Growth and the Danish Welfare Commission. Julie Sonne began their career as a student at the Danish Ministry of Finance in 2002.

The EIB is the European Union's bank. They are the only bank owned by and representing the interests of the European Union Member States. They work closely with other EU institutions to implement EU policy. As the largest multilateral borrower and lender by volume, they provide finance and expertise for sound and sustainable investment projects which contribute to furthering EU policy objectives. More than 90% of their activity is focused on Europe but they also implement the financial aspects of the EU's external and development policies.
