Nadia Calviño

Nadia Calviño is an accomplished economic leader, currently serving as the President of the European Investment Bank since January 2024. With extensive experience in government roles, Calviño has held various significant positions including First Vice-President and Minister for Economy and Digitalization in Spain, as well as serving in the European Commission as Director-General for Budget. Prior to these roles, Calviño worked in Spain's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, where responsibilities included directing competition policy and economic analysis. Academic credentials include a degree in Law from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia and a degree in Economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, alongside experience as a professor of economic policy and financial systems.
