Lauren Pray

Executive Committee Member at European Students' Union (ESU)

Lauren Pray serves as an Executive Committee Member at the European Students' Union since June 2022, representing 44 national unions of students across 40 countries and 20 million students. Responsibilities include managing a Task Force on Digitalisation and AI, developing policies on AI and higher education, and leading initiatives on social inclusion and history teaching. Lauren has held various roles, including Coordinator focusing on bias and human rights risks in AI, National Delegate for the Czech Republic, and Department of Commerce Trainee. Additional experience includes a research internship at the European Values Center for Security Policy and Vice President of the Student Council at Anglo-American University. Lauren founded and presided over Students Against Violence, raising over 100,000 CZK for global crises relief. Academically, Lauren is pursuing a program in AI Governance and holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs.

European Students' Union (ESU)

The European Students'​ Union (ESU) is an umbrella organisation of 44 National Unions of Students (NUS) from 40 countries. The NUSes are open to all students in their respective country regardless of political persuasion, religion, ethnic or cultural origin, sexual orientation or social standing. Our members are also student-run, autonomous, representative and operate according to democratic principles. The aim of ESU is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students at the European level towards all relevant bodies and in particular the European Union, Bologna Follow Up Group, Council of Europe and UNESCO.
