Albert De Vries MD MPH is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in the field of asylum and migration health. Currently serving as a Medical Advisor at the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) since November 2019, Albert previously held the position of Project Leader for the European Refugee Fund and Asylum Migration Integration Fund from September 2010 to November 2019, where significant multi-country projects were developed with co-funding from 18 European nations. Prior to this, Albert worked as a Senior Medical Advisor at the Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid, overseeing sensitive medical advisory operations from January 2000 to November 2019. Early career experience includes serving as a medical doctor at VUMC Academic Hospital Amsterdam, managing the treatment of chronic psychiatric patients. Albert holds a Master of Public Health from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an MD in Medicine from the University of Groningen.
