Mieke Lievens

Mieke Lievens is an experienced finance professional currently serving as a Finance Officer at the European Union Agency for Asylum since April 2023. Previously, Mieke held the position of Senior Programme Manager at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development from April 2019 to March 2023. Prior roles include Finance, Contracts and Audit Manager at the European Commission, managing development aid projects in the European Neighbourhood region from September 2014 to March 2019, and a similar position at the Delegation to the European Commission from November 2006 to September 2014, overseeing projects in the Eastern Caribbean. Mieke also has experience as a Contract and Financial Manager at the European Training Foundation and as an Advisor to the Representative at UNICEF, where social development projects in education, health, and protection of children were managed. Earlier career experience includes work as a Sales & Research Executive at VT4. Mieke holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from KU Leuven.
